Facials
-
Regardless of your age or gender, if you want your skin to look its best you have to take care of it. A facial does for your skin what a month of exercise and good nutrition does for your body, noticeably improve its look and feel. Through deep-cleansing of the pores, exfoliation, stimulating improved circulation, and use of professional-strength products, your esthetician can makes a lot of progress towards improving your skin in a single session. Your experienced esthetician will also gain valuable knowledge about your unique skin concerns and will then be able to create a customized at-home skin care routine, resulting in even better results!
-
Regular facials (especially paired with a professional home-care regimen) will help prevent breakouts, keep your surface cells newer and healthier, and thereby ensure that your skin looks its very best. We recommend facials every 4 to 6 weeks to promote healthy skin.
-
For a first time facial visit, we highly recommend booking our 60-minute Spa Sweet Signature Facial. This all encompassing facial allows time for a through consultation as well as a full facial treatment. All Signature facials are customized to each individual skin type. Your experienced esthetician will choose the best facial for your unique concerns.
-
First, you will be asked to complete our New Client Facial Questionnaire, so your needs and current product usage can be properly considered. Upon entering the treatment room, your esthetician will step out so that you can undress and make yourself comfortable under the linens on our cozy spa table. Some or all of the following steps will be performed, depending on the facial selected: A skin analysis, deep pore cleansing, exfoliation, extractions, application of skin-balancing mask and/or other treatment products, massage, hydration and SPF skin protection. At the end of your facial suggestions for home care will be provided.
-
Extractions are considered the heart of a clinical-style facial - they are the manual removal of sebum (oil and dirt) from your pores. It is the sebum, trapped within the pores beneath the skin's top layers, which can cause breakouts. Once your esthetician performs cleansing & exfoliation they will proceed to apply pressure to congested areas on your face, using either her fingers wrapped in gauze or cotton swabs, to remove the sebum from your pores. Sebum-free pores not only don't develop pimples, they appear much smaller, making your skin look clearer and brighter.
Massage
-
Be prepared for a rejuvenating and relaxing experience! When you come in for your massage appointment at Spa Sweet you will be greeted by a Spa Sweet team member and asked to fill out our New Client Massage Questionnaire so that we can get some general information about you and what you expect from your massage. Our massage therapist will then take you back into the room and go over the questionnaire with you.
-
During a Spa Sweet Massage (typically full body, unless otherwise requested) we work the back, shoulders, hips/gluts (through the sheet), legs...then you turn over on the table, under the sheet, and then we work the front of the legs, feet, hands, arms, shoulders, neck, head and face. We undrape only the area we are working. At Spa Sweet all glut work will be complete through the sheet, unless the client requests something different.
-
You may undress to your comfort level.
Waxing
-
When coming in for a waxing service it is recommended that you grow out your hair for four weeks prior to waxing any area of the body. Hair should be about a quarter of an inch long (length of a grain of rice)
-
When getting waxed you should schedule your appointment at least three days before youβre slipping into a swimsuit or going to an event. For seriously sensitive women, it can take this long for redness to go down.
-
It will get better. The more you get a bikini wax, the less it will hurt. The first time is the most intense!
-
Depending on the speed of your hair growth, we typically recommend every 4 to 6 weeks to reschedule waxing appointments.
-
We strongly encourage you NOT to use any prescribed retinol products at least 3-4 days before a waxing service to prevent irritation and skin lifting. Please call if you have questions on specific skin care products.
-
Some estheticians recommend witch hazel or other toning or exfoliating wipes to clients who tend to get ingrown hairs (and others may need something to calm redness) Also, freshly waxed skin will be more sensitive to sun, since dead skin cells also come off, So if youβre heading to the beach, take extra care to apply sunscreen on to any waxed areas.
